Meeting was brought to order at 6:40 pm.  Board members present were Kathy Quail, Dennis Jones and Tony Caporale.  Absent was Scott Muschong.  Also present were Jim and Jennifer Belanger.

Minutes of the November 17, 2009 meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer's Report was given by Tony and handed around for comments.  This was the final one for fiscal period 04/01/09 – 03/31/10.  Tony also gave a dues update, saying there were 64 dues collected so far.  He will be sending out the second reminder very soon.

Under Old Business:

  • Gina Olsztyn sent an email saying she had to bow out of helping with the newsletter and directory.

  • Fence in park needs repair:  Discussion was had on this as to the best way to protect the posts from the weed wacker.  One suggestion was to use weed killer around the posts.  Kathy said she sprays the weeds on the playground, so she could also spray around the posts.  Another suggestion was to put metal flashing around the posts.  Jennifer will talk to a resident who expressed interest in doing something about it at our Annual Meeting.

New Business:

  • Jennifer Belanger has kindly taken on the newsletter and directory among other things.  She helped Tony get out the dues letter which included the newsletter that she had done.  She is also doing  " Kid's Day" which she said will be June 5th. Our Association owes her a grateful "Thank You".

  • Jennifer said she checked with a 'port-a-potty' company about having one for kid's day.  They told her we could rent one, which they would clean twice a month, for $65.00 a month.  Discussion was had, we liked the idea of having it available for the summer months for other activities and for little children who come to the park with parents, but vandalism was a fear.  So Jennifer was asked to find out if insurance was available.  No decision was made about renting one at this time.

  • We also owed Mike Madigan a "Thank You" for taking on the subdivision garage sale this year April 8th – 10th.  If you need information or could give him a helping hand please call (248) 659-8143.

  • There was discussion on having a flea market in the park this summer, and a small portion of profits going towards future activities in the park.  Kathy said Mike had mentioned he might put on a summer garage sale.  She will give him this suggestion which other residents could take on or help him with if so interested.

  • Dennis Jones our VP has done a wonderful job of starting and keeping up our web site.

      "Thank You Dennis".

  • Discussion was had on establishing a capital improvement fund for expenses such as new roof for the pavilion, repairing playground equipment, repairing the fence, etc.  Also to cover fixed expenses such as park insurance and mowing.  Tony will look into this.

  • Tony is looking into keeping who we had mow the park last year.  They were the cheapest and did a good job.

Next meeting date is May 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted by Kathy Quail
